Joe, you completed the assignment: clear inside/outside, single entry, large space, small space, zones, transitions (heard that before?). I like the approach to the small space with the OT, the repetitive relationship of the four walls and the openings. The slight changes from wall to wall, the layering with the main entry and the GT adds strength and interest. I wished the same rigor would have to been applied to the rest of the building, but as much as the transitional space and the zones are satisfying the requirements, the composition misses to resolve the two different geometries. Next time.
i guess part of my intent was to keep the focus on the small space, which i envisoned as a gallery. the rest of the spaces i tried to keep very simple (probably too simple based on your comments), so that it would not detract from the interest of the main space. oh well. maybe this is something i can re-visit at some point.
We currently live in a 1927 Craftsman house. Recently completed a total kitchen remodel, a complete gut to the studs and build out with our own two hands.
Our family consists of three cats: Shrimpy, Cocktail and Diesel.
My fiancee, Missy, also graduated in architecture from Ohio State. She recently passed the LEED AP exam and has several active green building projects through her firm, WD Partners.
An interesting quote from Renzo Piano during an interview with Archinect: "I think it important to note the difference between style and coherence. If you're talking coherence, I love it. If you're talking about style, then I start to wonder."

Joe, could you please re-post the image with the axon. I can't open it in its own window. More comments to follow tonight. Thanks
drawing has been reposted.
